Connect with the Wisdom of your Higher Self - Part 6

To Be Connected, You Need To Detach

In part 6 of How to Connect with the Wisdom of your Higher Self I thought I would let the chapter from the upcoming Way of the Initiate tell the story and allow the reader to make their own connections to the teachings that lay underneath. As my old teacher said there is no spiritual journey without inner work, so I guess it is time for you to go to work. The title says it all 'To be Connected, You Need to Detach.

I will see you on the other side of today's story.

"You have had enough excitement for one day, so we will set up camp for the night. You collect some wood, and I will get some water from the stream so that I can prepare tonight's meal," said the old sage.
The young man only nodded. It had been a tough day. When he woke that morning and found himself on his own, he panicked. He thought he was alone again, but this time many miles away from the village where he lived. Of course, living in the village had been no life, for most of the time, because of his disfigurement, he felt like he was on his own, but he had gotten used to that way of living - although he now understood that he was not really living, merely waiting to get older and die the slow, horrible death of boredom that had become his life. There was a moment when he woke when he would have been happy to have gone back to that life. What had happened? It was hard to describe; in fact, he could not describe it. There was a moment when he went deep within himself and felt connected to all things. It was going with his feelings that led him to the old sage. It was a strange feeling. In the moment he knew where the old sage was, there was a feeling of joy such as he had never experienced before in his life. At first he thought the joy was caused by knowing that he would be safe, but on reflection he realized that it was deeper than that. The joy came from knowing that he was truly connected to all things. He had glimpses of it in the few days he had travelled with the old man. He thought the old sage was the reason he had received these glimpses, but now he knew that he was the source of this connection to all things.
"How is the wood coming along, Huo?"
The young man looked up into the face of the old sage, which was creased with a smile. "You deliberately left me this morning? You knew what would happen?"
The old sage sat down beside the young man, for it was no longer right to call him a boy; he had grown so much in the last few days, but not so much physically (although there had been some changes there), more spiritually and emotionally. The young man had seen beyond the veil, and the energy from beyond was now increasingly flowing through him, giving him insights that would have been impossible with his mindset only a couple days before.
"Let me tell you a story. In Old China, an emperor stood upon a very high hill. Spread through the valley below him was all of his great army. He could see where a battle would be fought and where the other armies waited. He had developed an intricate system of commands for the generals and officers of his army, and the battle began.
“The emperor could signal to the right, and the right would attack. He could signal to the left, and the left would attack, or the middle. With another signal, each would retreat, then attack again. The battle went on for hours. When the emperor saw a weakness, he sent troops to that area, and eventually they overcame the other army.
"This analogy fits your conscious and subconscious minds. Your conscious mind is like the emperor, and your subconscious, the army, does not see what is going on. When we are talking of healing, what we are really talking about is the subconscious mind, for it is the beliefs that we store in the subconscious mind that determine our future. The subconscious mind is a wonderful, natural force. It is how we exist in this world. It allows us to have memories of past situations, and it is the place where the conscious mind implants all its beliefs and knowledge. This can either be a positive or negative experience. If we place in our subconscious the thought that the world and its people are filled with great beauty, then that is what we will see. On the other hand, if we focus on the pain and suffering in the world, all we will see is pain and suffering.
"When we incarnate into our bodies before birth, or shortly after, what is it that incarnates? Some have called it the Soul; others have called it the Subconscious. I would guess that if you look into many of the religions, it will be known by many other names. For me, I will call it the Subconscious. It is my belief that our higher self sends off aspects of itself in the form of the Subconscious to inhabit a body to increase its experiences in this plane. When the subconscious takes residence in the vehicle, it is blank and has no knowledge of other lives or of the Higher Self. This is done so that when it incarnates, it comes without any knowledge so that it can work through the issues that it came here to experience. It is not a hit-and-miss exercise, as the higher self and the aspect that incarnates understand what are the probabilities for it in the first thirteen years of its life. It understands the parents’ weaknesses and strengths, it understands the culture it is being born into, and it understands what is happening in the world at the time. Yes, for it's own experience, it chooses to live in a village, in a palace, or in a slum. It is only because of our misunderstanding of the wonderful opportunity that we call life that we judge people for where they are born, the colour of their skin, their culture, and their parenting. Mark my words: it is the choice of the incarnated as to where and when they choose to incarnate, and it is only our lack of understanding that makes us judge others to be different or less than we are."
Huo had a million questions; it seemed like the old man was taking his mind and stretching it in a hundred different directions at once. Before he could even ask a question, the old sage was stretching his mind and beliefs in more directions.
"When we incarnate," said the old sage, "we even choose what Element we will incarnate into, as this elemental bias will allow us the best opportunity to experience what we came to the Earth-plane to experience. When people start to learn about the Elements or deeper understandings of the Subconscious mind, it is because they are ready for it. It is time for them to go beyond their Subconscious Mind.
"But what is there to go beyond, and how do we do it? Although our subconscious is an empty book when we arrive, it comes programmed with our elemental perspective. We have even chosen what health and disease patterns we will experience. Incarnation into the Earth-plane is all about experiences, whether we are human, animal, plant, or mineral. If you are attracted to these teachings, then you have lived at least six lifetimes as a human and many in all the other dimensions.
"Even before your were born, your subconscious mind was taking in impressions from your world. The Subconscious mind takes in everything; hundreds of thousands of inputs every minute. Before you start feeling guilty for the garbage that you have fed yourself or been fed by your parents or the world around you, stop for a moment, breathe, and understand that with regards to yourself, you can become like the Emperor in our story and start to take control of your Subconscious mind through the Conscious Mind. You choose all the crap that the world has given you. You understood what you were coming here to experience. You chose it; there are no victims. This is one concept that I have had the most difficulty understanding as I watch people in pain and suffering."
Huo was trying take in everything the old sage was telling him, but surely it wasn't possible. Why would he have chosen a life where he would lose his parents in a fire? He looked down at his withered arm. Why would anyone choose that? he asked himself. He turned his attention to the old sage. "Why would anyone choose to go through the things that I have been through?"
"That is the reason that you are here with me: to find out who you really are, why you have chosen to incarnate into the world at this time, and then go beyond it." The old sage went quiet for a few minutes, allowing the young man time to digest everything he had said.
"The subconscious mind has the ability to create in your world whatever you program into it, and whatever you program into it is what you will get in return. If you want to change your life, the key is to start taking care with what you program into your subconscious.
"Begin today by becoming the observer. Watch how you respond to people and situations. When you meet someone new, do you react positively or negatively, and why?
"When you get angry, why are you angry? Is it something they did, or are you projecting your weakness onto them? Often I find it is when we meet someone who shows us what we don't like about ourselves or a weakness we have that we react.
"Over the next few days, observe your reaction to everything; take your awareness outside of yourself and watch yourself. If you are reacting negatively to something, don't stop yourself, but observe and try to understand why.

"If something makes you sad - why?
If you judge something or someone - why?
If you are fearful - why?

"Don't be too tough on yourself; just observe. As you begin to become the observer, you start to understand why you respond, and then you can rise beyond it. Sometimes it can be a great challenge when you have believed these things for many years. Remember, you are here to go beyond your Subconscious mind and have it work for you. It is time to understand your Element, then go beyond it to the Element of Ether.
"We live in amazing times, when all of us have the opportunity to be the creative essence we were meant to be. It is your duty to find out what it is that you are meant to do in this life. This is what your apprenticeship is all about. It is called the Way of the Initiate, but by now I hope you have realized that it is an inner journey, a journey few have the courage to make."
“Let's eat." And so, as the sun set, the sage and his apprentice enjoyed the bounty provided by the elements. Dinner was quiet as they journeyed within to reflect on the day.

*************
Hello again. I hoped you enjoyed today's chapter. It could take you years to unravel the teachings within this chapter. I wrote it and even I learn something each time I read it. One simple thing you could do to make great changes in your future is to begin to observe your reactions to life and to all the people you come into contact with. Be like the young boy Huo, "Over the next few days, observe your reaction to everything; take your awareness outside of yourself and watch yourself.

Blessings and Peace and may your simple observations open you up to teachings from Iyour Higher Self.

Healing and the Subconscious Mind

Healing and the Subconscious Mind

"In Old China an emperor stood upon a very high hill. Spread through the valley below him was all of his great army. He could see where a battle would be fought and where the other armies waited. He had developed an intricate system of commands for the generals and officers of his army and the battle beganThe emperor could signal to the right, and the right would attack. When the emperor saw a weakness he sent troops to that area and eventually they overcame the other army."
Chung Fu
This analogy fits your conscious and subconscious minds. Your conscious mind is the emperor and your subconscious, the army, does not see what is going on.
When we are talking of healing what we are really talking about is the subconscious mind. When we look at the physician analogy in my previous blog it is important to understand that our subconscious mind is a wonderful, natural force. It is how we exist in this world. It allows us to have memories of past situations and it is the place where the conscious mind implants all it's belief and knowledge. This can can either be a positive or negative experience. If we place in our subconscious the thought that the world and it's people are filled with great beauty, then that is what we will see. On the other hand if we focus on the pain and suffering in the world all we will see is pain and suffering.
Many of my readers will have an understanding of what I mean by the Subconscious Mind or the Subconscious as it has also been called. Before we go into more detail on how to get the best out of and work with the Subconscious I would like to give my quick explanation of what I believe it is and why it is so important.
When we incarnate into our bodies before birth or shortly after. What is is that incarnates? Some have called it the Soul others have called it the Subconscious and I would guess that if you look into many of the religions it will be known by many other names. For me I will call it the Subconscious. It is my belief that our higher self sends of aspects of itself in the form of the Subconscious to inhabit a body to increase its experiences in this plane. When the subconscious takes residence in the vehicle it is blank and has no knowledge of other lives or of the Higher Self. This is done so that went it incarnates it comes without any knowledge; so that it can work through the issues that it came here to experience. It is not a hit and miss exercise as the higher self and the aspect which incarnates understands what are probabilities for it in the first thirteen years of its life. It understands the parents weaknesses and strengths; it understand the culture it is being born into and it understand what is happening on the world at this time. Yes for it's own experience it chooses to live in Africa, Indonesia or America. It is only our misunderstanding of the wonderful opportunity that we call life, that we judge people for where they are born, the colour of their skin, their culture and their parenting. Mark my words it is the choice of the incarnated to where and when they choose and it is only our lack of understanding that makes us judge others to be different or less than we are.
When we incarnate we even choose what Element we will incarnate into as this elemental bias will allow us the best opportunity to experience what we came to earth to experience. When people start to learn about the Elements or deeper understandings of the Subconscious mind it is because they are ready for it. It is time for them to go beyond their Subconscious Mind.
But what is there to go beyond and how do we do it? Although our subconscious is an empty book when we arrive it comes programmed with our elemental perspective. We have also chosen our genetics because that will offer us the right environment in disease and health patterns to experience what we came here for. Incarnation into the Earth-plane is all about experiences; whether we are human, animal, plant or mineral. If you are attracted to these writings then you have done at least six lifetimes as human and many in all the other dimensions.
Even before your are born your subconscious is taking in impressions from your world. The Subconscious mind takes in everything; hundreds of thousands of inputs every minute. As the old computer saying goes, "Garbage in, garbage out." Before you start feeling guilty for the garbage that you have fed yourself or your children. Stop for a moment, breathe and understand that with regards to yourself you can become like the Emperor in our story and start to take control of your Subconscious mind through Conscious Mind. With regards the children you will have to wear that one. Sorry only kidding. Remember that your children chose you for all the crap that you and the world around you has given them. They understood what they were coming here to experience; they chose it. They get their revenge though. Every child feeds back to their parents and society what it taught them in the first thirteen years. We always blame the teenagers, but maybe we should look closer to home and be thankful that our loving teenagers are giving back to us what we taught them, so that we can deal with our own stuff. Scary thought that. Remember there are no victims. This is one concept that I have had the most difficulty understanding as I watch people in pain and suffering.
The subconscious mind has the ability to create in your world whatever you program into it and whatever you program into it is what you will get in return. The key if you want to change your life is to start taking care with what you program into your subconscious.
Begin today by becoming the observer. Watch how you respond to people and situations. When you meet someone new do you react positively or negatively and why?
When you get angry. Why are you angry, is it something they did or are you projecting your weakness onto them? Often I find it is when we meet someone who shows what we don't like about ourselves or a weakness we have that we can react.
If something makes you sad - why?
If you judge something or someone - why?
If you are fearful - why?
Don't be too tough on yourself; just observe; as you begin to become the observer you start to understand why you respond and then you can rise beyond it. Sometimes it can be a great challenge when you have believed these things for many years. Remember you are here to go beyond your Subconscious mind and have it work for you. It is time to understand your Element and then go beyond it to the Element of Ether. If you want to learn more about the Elements my first book 'The 33rd Sage,' is filled with the teachings I received from my old Chinese teacher.
We live in amazing times when all of us have the opportunity to be the creative essence we were meant to be.
Blessings and Peace and May your god give you the strength to realize how wonderful you are. One day you may even discover that the God or the Godforce that you seek has always been inside you.

The Four Centred Disciplines

The Four Centred Disciplines

I am going to take a break from writing blogs for a couple of weeks while I work on my third book in the 33rd Sage trilogy. I hope you have enjoyed the blogs of the Elements of Man and in a few weeks I will return with some new and exciting blogs and hopefully news on the publication date for the 33rd Sage and the Initiate. In the meantime please enjoy the following parable and the teaching on the four centred disciplines. For those who have read the 33rd Sage, now might be a good time to revisit it as the lessons learnt from reading the Elements will transform your next reading.

Blessings and Peace to you all and may the Godforce that lives inside you point you in the direction of your bliss.

In Old China an emperor called his advisors to him and asked, "Who am I?" They said, "You are the Sun, the light, you are the essence."
"Why do you do what I ask," said the emperor? They answered, "Because you are God and we are followers of God."
"If I am God, then I must be all-powerful," said the emperor, and the advisors said, "That is true."
The emperor asked again, "Why do you do the things I ask you?" The advisors said, Because you are God."
"Why do you not just not do them?"
"Because you would have us put to death."
The emperor realized that there was fear. He said, "If I am God, why does not the flower grow where I ask it?" The wise men said, "We will plant it where you want it."
"Why does it not rain when I want it to rain?" The wise men said, "It does not rain because when you want it to rain, that is not what you really want."
The emperor walked away into his garden and looked at the flowers and the birds; he looked at the small stream, at the little fish within it. He saw butterflies and the greenness of the grass, and the softness of the moss. He thought, if I am God, why did I not create this? What is real? I am only God to the people, not to the plants, or the flowers or birds. If there is a God, there must be a God of all; but the flowers do not follow anyone; they do not go here or there for fear of dying. The butterfly does not fear the frog as it flies by, even though the frog will eat it. What is reality?
He returned to the palace and said to his advisors, "What is real. What is true? What is reality?
In your world there is much beauty. But the beauty that you see, hear, touch or taste is only a particle of the beauty that lies around you. In your world are four disciplines that will allow you to find reality.

1. Physical Discipline
First is a physical discipline, not exercise of the body, but being proud of what you are, and not of what you want to be. The discipline of being able to look at yourself in a stream or mirror and say, I am proud of what I am. Controlling the body and it's movements and not allowing it to move you is a discipline, realizing that you are a carriage that has within a most important rider.
Physical discipline means walking straight and sitting straight, knowing that when you cross a leg or an arm to someone, you are limiting communication. Physical discipline means not running or hurrying; physical discipline means knowing your body, it's muscles, it's bone. It means exercise, not in a religious sense but realizing that you are the God Force, that your body is what it should be and being proud of it.

2. Health Discipline
Foremost within that is respecting yourself. Above respecting all things is respecting yourself. You cannot respect other things without first respecting yourself, healthwise. The foods that Old Chinese suggests are not prescribed by a religion or a discipline. Old Chinese does not suggest that you should not eat meat because it will get you to your higher self, or from this plane faster. There is no diet, no choice of food for a specific, moralistic cause that will get you closer to your higher self.
We know that you are herbivorous and so meat is foreign to your system. There is no needed to worry about the killing of animals. Since there is no death of anything, you should not worry about it. Old Chinese suggest no meat because it causes damage in your body. Meat eliminates calcium from your system, and many other things. The reason for eliminating root vegetables is that the cellulose in them interferes with the correct digestion of carbohydrates.
The food, diet or health you choose should respect your body first. Of secondary importance is the evolution of spirit within the food, but first is evolution of spirit within yourself. Health discipline is the realization that each and everything that is wrong in your body, or that feels wrong with it, is a mental though form. There are no I curable diseases, only incur able people.
You can learn through the discipline of health that when you have a soreness or a congestion, it is because of your though patterns, because of dealing with a person or a resentment. Thought becomes a very important governor of your disciplined health perspective. Eating sugar and salt are equivalent to eating sand; and gluten flour, or anything that contains it, interferes with assimilation of vitamins in most personages.
Respecting yourself nutritionally is not some faddistic religion, not saying I am doing this so will be better than that person. You are doing this because you respect yourself, and you respect yourself because you are the God Force within you. You are your own reality, and so, by respecting yourself, you recognize what the emperor did not. It is easier for a person who is working on their spiritual evolution, or in essence is trying to come in tune.

3. Harmony
In-tuneness means the ability to perceive, to feel to hear, to touch, to taste everything at each and every moment of the day. This is in-tuneness with everything that is going on around you. When the musical instrument is in tune, it plays a harmonious chord. It is pleasing, it is awareness of what is around, and it allows others to feel harmonious. In tune is to be harmonious with all your surroundings.
It is easier for you to be out of tune in your world, than it is to be in tune. More on your world are inharmonious than in tune. It is easier for you not to have a nutritional body, than have a nutritional body. Most people in your world complain or have something wrong with them. That way, if you are like them, nothing is wrong.
Your world thinks that if you at spiritually disciplining yourself, you should be free from disease. That is not true, for the more in tune you become with your nutrition, the more out of tune those around you will feel. They will centre on you, and find every little thing you are reacting to. Before, when someone said to you, "You are not too smart in certain parts," You would have laughed. Now, like a finely tuned instrument, just a little outward vibration can cause you to come out of tune and play a disharmonious chord. It is easier for you to not be in tune. Those who strive for spiritual nutritional health are like fish out of water. In the water it is easy, but once out of your environment, out of what everyone else is doing, you become not very important.
A harmonious person is one that is aware of everything around them and does not combat things. If someone comes to you in an inharmonious way, and you react to them in an inharmonious way, you only create disharmony. The Nazarene once said, "Resist not evil." Your world thought that meant something else. It meant when evil, or negativity comes to you, do not fight it. If you fight it, you create war, dissension. Relax. Be as the rock on the shore as the wave lashes against it - stand firm - and when the tide goes out, the rock stands alone, beautiful. Watch those things that are thrown in, do not try to combat, or jump against the wave.
Your world finds great disharmony; it is the world of disharmony, or the university of disharmony. In reality, disharmony is one of the great dilemmas of your physical plane. How harmonious are you to yourself? - not to those around you; to yourself. Do you feel the new morning? Do you touch the wind?

4. Balance
The fourth discipline is balance; balance of self. In Old China, there was a teacher who told the student, "If you relax or meditate for four to five minutes each day, you would find great things happening."
The student was enlightened and found that it caused an ecstasy. He returned to the teacher and said, "I was so delighted with the results that I am now meditating twenty four hours a day. And the teacher said, "You are unbalanced."
The person who meditates half a second a day is unbalanced. Those who sleep twelve hours a day are as unbalanced as those who try to maintain on two hours of sleep. Those who eat constantly are unbalanced, as are those who eat not at all.
You have come to be within your world, not to escape it. You have reincarnated to be a part if your world, not to be a recluse, a monk, a mystic or hermit; not to withdraw from community or institutional situations, but to live in your world. By living in it you can maintain a balance. Those who can walk on hot stones, or levitate for hours, or, at a breath, can cause a tree to change from here to there; they too are unbalanced. Why do you need to know how to walk on coals? And what will levitation do for you? It may cause you a nosebleed if it goes too high.
You must have a little imbalance within balance. Approximately 3200 years ago, the creation of yin-yang developed in China, to create a balance of spiritual essence and military difficulties. You should watch this theory that puts negative before positive, and remember, he who walks the middle of the road gets hit from both directions.
Consider your eyes: if your right eye saw equally as your left eye, you could not see. If your left ear hear as equally as the right, you could not hear. If your right arm had the same strength as your left arm, there would be inertia. The same strength in the right and left leg would cause inertia. There must be a little imbalance within the balance. Instead of walking down the middle of your path, go from side to side and you will experience energies of either side without getting off the path.
How do you maintain balance in an unbalanced world? How do you ride a muddy water buffalo? Or shake hands with a tiger? Each individual cries out for balance within, for solitude; not a twenty four hour solitude. Each individual needs no more than one minute per hour of the day, and you can balance. But how? When you fight the subconscious  or the would so hard. Consider these things: First, the higher self projects through you outwardly. Energy comes through you from the higher self, which is a combination of all you are or have been, the God Force. There is no energy returned to it. This is a one-way energy path.
Second, as long as you act subconsciously, energy will try to come through the subconscious mind, which is like trying to pick rice in a rainstorm. The energy - or the power, or the inspiration or the light from the higher self - that activates the subconscious, controlling all of your movements, feelings and moods, will cause impulse instead of intuition. It will cause doubt instead of faith; it will cause negativity. By disciplining yourself for twenty four minutes, you can relax the subconscious and the higher self will circumvent it, bypassing it.

Chung Fu
May the infinite self inside each of you reach out today and touch deeply the heart of another. A new age mystic once said, "Love is the answer, Love is the key."

The Elements of Creation

The Elements of Creation

The idea of the point of power or the point of choice, that moment when you can make a decision that will change the rest of your life has always fascinated me. When we commit to a course of action what effect does it have on the world? What happens to the other choices we could have made?

When we reach a point of choice. How much does our emotional state effect what happens beyond the point of choice? Can we create the life we want to live?

For many years I have tried to learn as much about the topic as possible. The journey has led me to ancient manuscripts around the world, to physics through quantum mechanics and the multiple universe theory, to hundreds of mystics and teachers who could throw any light on the subject.

Now I believe it is time to start sharing some of what I have learned in the hope that others who are following the path or about to step onto it spend far less than fifteen years or twenty years or even a lifetime trying to gain this understanding. A teacher should be able to allow his students to step on his shoulders and wish them luck as they go beyond him. For it is only through teaching that you can truly master the subject. As my old teacher said, “We teach what we need to know. Once we master something it is time to move on, because we no longer benefit the student or ourselves through our teaching. A real master touches people as he moves anonymously passed them and changes them forever. The master understands that in the quietness everything is possible.” If I had understood what he meant in those four lines I could have saved myself many years on the path.

Thought creates reality is something I have believed in for a long time. I believe that we create the world that we live in. That the world around is only a mirror of what we are experiencing on the inside. Even the latest research points to our words and feelings effecting our DNA. While I still believe that our thoughts create our reality there has always been something missing. I have been able to change my life, moving from a fairly negative existence to one of a fairly happy and creative life. Once dyslexic, reading and writing forever a struggle, I now find my passion in writing and inspiring others. And yet there has always been something missing. Not that the concept of thought creates reality was wrong but more that it was not the whole picture.

One thing that always amazes me is that the information that you are searching for has generally been with you a long time before you actually realise its importance. It is a bit like buying a book because the subject interested you, only to put it aside. Then one day, months or even years later you pick up the book and start reading it and it answers the questions that you currently have in your mind. In some way we have an ability to know our possible futures. To slip past the bounds of time and buy a book that will give us the answer in the future.

“Right place right time,” as my old teacher used to say. "Walk don’t run and you will always be in the right place at the right time." While studying and researching into the idea that our thoughts create our reality I had at the same time been studying an old ancient Chinese understanding of the seasons within nature and within mankind. Two wonderful teachers taught me this skill. One an architect/dancer who studied in an old Chinese mystical circle and the second the old Chinese master I met on the beach in Bali. The architect taught me about the theory of the cycles within man and nature and the old master taught me through practice. As I have said previously, he would make me sit for hours in the snow or on a beach on a hot summer’s day and learn from the elements themselves; he taught me about the cycles within man and mankind. How man is like the seasons and that to understand the seasons in nature you could understand the different personality types or cycles within mankind. Studying both these topics side by side I did not see their connection.

It was not until I was reflecting on some of the things that I had created in my life. Sometimes it was easy to create and other times it did not matter how much work I did or belief I had in it nothing seemed to happen. I had read all the books by the experts in creating you future, Napoleon Hill, Norman Vincent Peale and Anthony Robbins to name but a few. I had done all the workshops and as usual I was fired up for a couple or days or weeks about what I had learnt and would put them into action, but that passion soon faded and some of my creations stalled.

Sometimes they failed because it was not the right time; others failed because they were honestly crap. But there were others, which failed, and I was sure I had done everything right. I had visualised what I wanted to create. I had the desire for it. I took action to complete it or show the universe and its inhabitants that I was serious about it. But nothing. I knew as an intuition, a feeling that there was a component missing. It is funny how even the last sentence which was written unconsciously; as the words flowed from what sometime’s appears as my conscious mind but was in reality from the deeper place; a place which was showing me why some of my attempts had failed. Some of you who are reading this will have already picked up on what was missing, but alas I was not so clever. So let me share with you the story of how the penny dropped for me.

I was sitting in a workshop listening to Gregg Bradden give a lecture on …….. And he was talking about the power of feelings and how feelings can connect our heart to our head. He was giving me the answer then of what was missing for me in creating the life that I wanted, but I was not ready or able to hear. He talked about the four forces in the universe and how science has been trying to find a way of tying them all together into one unified field. He talked about the four parts to the DNA. He talked about feelings having the ability to change our DNA. He spoke of the importance of the heart and feelings. He talked about the connection between the heart and the brain and yet I still did not hear him.

In the afternoon break I was in the toilet and a friend shared the urinal with me. He asked me how I was enjoying the seminar. We chatted for a few brief moments, then washed our hands. As we were leaving to go back to the seminar, he said to me that the unified field theory was just another way of looking at the elements. The elements which I had taught him about in conversations and through my book the sage. He said the ether was no more than a combination of the elements, just like the unified field force was a combination of Gravity, Electromagnetism, the weak and strong nuclear forces. It was nothing I had not thought intellectually and I was congratulating him on his insight when all of a sudden I was hit with that moment of epiphany. Creation, the source of all that there is just a combination of all the elements of Fire, Water, Air and Earth. There could not be creation without all these elements being present. My years of  training of two different lines of thought or study had crossed over each other at that very moment and I had a number of wonderful revelations. To create what you want you need to have all these elements present. By bringing these elements together in the right amount you collapse the reality from the ether. You collapse one of the many possibilities into reality. We create through our inner combinations of these elements.

I could see that most of what I had created which had failed had one of the four components missing. Just like nature follows the seasons, we need to go through the seasons when we create something. We need the Fire of Winter. The Water of  Spring. The Air of the Summer and the Earth of the Autumn. Everything in nature follows this fourfold process right down to our very DNA. If feeling which is the water in the fourfold process is proven to effect our very DNA then what effect could all the elements have on the very fabric of the universe itself.

How could I have missed the four-step process in creation? I had recognised it in many other aspects of life. I am not saying that I should spend more time talking to people in toilets. It is the realisation that if you are open then the answer can come from anywhere. Sometimes our best teachers are the not the great masters, but the moments and the people we come into contact with in any moment of our life. Life has an amazing way of mirroring back to us what we focus on within.

If you want to take charge and create the life you want it is as simple as the following fours steps.

Step 1 Fire – Create the Vision
Step 2 Water – Feel the Feeling
Step 3 Air – Create the Plan
Step 4 Earth – Take Action

These four substances come together to form what the ancients called the ether which is the energy, the Chi, the life force within all things. If any part of the cyclical process is missing then what you want to create becomes just another wasted thought. It is through the combination that we contact the substance the ancients call the ether, it is this substance that is within all things. It is as though we do not create the object of our desire it is more that we collapse it into reality. It is as if it was already one of the infinite possibilities and we have collapsed it into reality. Many of the teachers of manifestation tell you to imagine that you already have the object of your desire. To a certain point this is correct, but in reality you do not have to imagine that it does exist because it already does amongst the infinite possibilities that we can choose.

If you have read my first book “The 33rd Sage,” or have been following this blog on the Elements you will already have an understanding of the cycles within man and mankind. For those who haven’t, please read back over the blog or better than that buy a copy of my book, as the story itself was written so that whenever you read it, it seems as if the story is different. This is because each time you read it you come to it with a deeper understanding of the Elements and the cycles within man and mankind.

I am going to finish the blog there because in reality you have all you need to create the future that you want. For some of you there will be epiphany’s going off all over the place. For the others, you think you need more and I could have written a book about it, but it is a simple concept. If you follow the seasons and ensure that each of the elements are used then you can create the future you want.

Creating your future is as easy walking from the winter, to the spring, onto the summer and then to the fall.

Blessings and peace to you all and may the living spirit within all things offer up their teachings to you.

The Elements Bits and Pieces

Elements Bits and Pieces

Today I thought we would have a bit of fun with the Elements and look at how they appear in many stages of life. They are all short segments and hopefully I have captured the essence in each one of them. I am giving you this to read over the weekend as I ponder over where to go next with the blog on the Elements. Should I go deeper into the Elements or more into the subconscious? I am in a bit of a quandary. Enjoy todays bits and pieces and if there is someone out there with an insight on where I should go next with this blog I would love to hear from them. For now I will ponder some more and continue to work on book three in the 33rd Sage trilogy. The second book 'The 33rd Sage and the Initiate' should be out around the spring equinox or the fall for my northern readers.

I hope you enjoy the bits and pieces
Sexuality
The Earth type believes that sex is an instinct that must be appeased. They consider it necessary to discharge their tensions and frustrations or they become irritable and anger. They do not need a deep emotional connect as long as the sex is good and brings them release. In a committed relationship they see sex as a duty to be performed by the partner and become angry if they are not appeased.
Water makes a deep emotional connection with their sexual partners and likes commitments. They sometime feel swept off their feet spontaneously and later wonder why they have become intimately involved. In a relationship they must feel that the partner is in tune with their feelings or they become cold or frigid.
Fire sees sex as playful encounter. Sometimes they treat the partner as if they are special until they have satisfied themselves and then they are on to a new game. In a committed relationships sex must supported by an erotic fantasies or they become bored and as we know boredom is not something that the Fire deals all with.
Air combine romantic incentives like art, music and poetry with sex. They like to discuss life and are prone to “head trips”. Don't forget that acts of services is their love language. The Earth and Fire (hot temperaments) think of physical sexuality first and then emotional and mental contact. The Water and Air (cold temperaments) like to have emotional and mental contact first before physical intercourse.
Sleep
Excessive sleep is a sign of coldness and moisture as seen in the Water Element. Excessive wakefulness indicates heat and dryness as seen in the Earth type. Water need the most sleep and are very slow waking. If they are deprived of sleep they become emotional, tearful and their sensorium becomes dull. Earth need less sleep but often has trouble letting go and really resting deeply. They suffer from lack of sleep, food, and rest and become irritable, angry and morose. Air discharges much mental energy and needs sleep to rejuvenate their systems, but they have trouble staying asleep and because their sensorium is disturbed easily. They become melancholic, nervous and depressed from lack of sleep. Fire is very lively and festive in nature and stays up for long period but they exhausted themselves and then sleep deeply. They become bloody minded, angry and violent when deprived of sleep.

In the Home
When in a room the cold types of Air and Water naturally like to keep the windows and doors closed unless it is very warm while the hot types Fire and Earth like to keep the windows and doors open when it is not too cold. When a cold type and hot type are in the same environment, it is hard for them to feel comfortable together. A Fire type tends to be over heated and sweaty so they want the windows open and the fan on. The Water tends to be cold and sweaty so moving air makes them colder so they want the windows closed and the fan off and yet when unwell they are generally better for fresh air. A Fire type likes to keep the drapes open because they like to see what is going on outside and like others to see them. They tend to be more exhibitionists. A Water type, however, likes to keep the drapes partly closed because they do not want strangers to look in the home but they need light or they feel sad; which is especially true in the winter when the light is far less. Earth also likes to keep the windows open but they keep the drapes partially closed because they sometimes have a tendency to be more secretive; especially when they are out of a balance. Air likes to keep the windows closed because they are sensitive to drafts but they keep the drapes partially open because darkness makes them more depressed.
The Earth type treats the home like a workplace and tends to store useful articles where they can be most easily accessed. Water likes their home to be peaceful, private, personal and comfortable. Fire likes to decorate the house brightly and give it an open and festive atmosphere. Air tends to treat the house like a gallery or library and expect other to respect the organization of the premises; out of a balance and we have the over organized and the obsessive cleaners. The practical Earth Element becomes impatient and irritated if guests do not lend a hand in the chores associated with up keep of the home. The sensitive Water feels overwhelmed and hurt if guests do not conform to the established routines of the household. The proud Fire becomes agitated and humiliated if they are not shown enough appreciation for their activities as a host. Air becomes forlorn, fussy and hypochondriacal when guests do not acknowledge the reasons behind their efforts at maintaining order.
Shopping
At the store the Earth Element selects clothes that they think are practical and good looking in earth colors like brown, tan and green. They like well cut clothes that are a tight fit. They like to strike a good deal and look for good bargains. How much something cost is important and the bargaining allows them to stay in control.
The Water type purchases loose clothes that compensate for the watery weight they hold around the hips and thighs in mellow colors like blue, white and pastel colors. They like garments that flow like water and move in waves. They buy what they feel is right for them although they don’t like to overspend unnecessarily. Sometimes, they can’t make up their minds and take a long time to make a decision.
The Fire type buys fashionable, loud clothes that enhance the athletic figure in bright colors like red, orange and yellow. They like to wear as little as possible and show their chests and legs. They buy things impulsively and money is no object.
The Air type prefers classic clothes that are tasteful in darker colors like black, purple, brown and grey. They are economical in the purchases and businesslike in their transactions and like to compare and weigh what they buy. They like things that make them look sophisticated.
Occupation
At work the Earth type is serious and hard working and they try to move forward by showing that they are efficient, trustworthy and practical. They may not get along all that well with other employees and tend to blame others for any mistakes or failures in the business. They are difficult, demanding bosses that demand loyalty and do not like to take in the views of others.
The Water type is trustworthy and may appear a little slow but they are persistent and careful in their work. As a boss they listen to their employees and willing to take suggestions but do make new changes quickly.
The Fire type is capable of a large amount of work but they like to waste time, are easily distracted, and get bored by routines. They are friendly but challenging employers that like to give orders and don’t take suggestions all that well. One day they act as if an individual is very special and next day they are fired.
The Air type has a strong capacity for intellectual pursuits but little physical stamina. They can become obsessed with details and forget the bigger picture. They are very exacting employers who demand paying attention to what they are thinking. They tend to second guess every move of their employees.
Entertainment
The Earth type like action movies that have quick moving plots with clear cut roles for the actors. Earth roles are hard realists who have a strong belief that the ends justify the means. They like documentaries about real life and politics. They like fast music and enjoy strong rhythms. They like to go out but are not fond of staying in one place for to long. They like to get around town.
The Water Element like light romantic comedies, movies with animals and slow moving dramas with emotional endings. They like documentaries on nature. They like slow moving music with changes in mood and tempo. They like to go to quiet places that with mood and setting.
The Fire type prefer comedies that have a strong sexual content as well as violent movies with heroes that are successful in the goals. They find most documentaries boring unless they are entertaining. They like loud music with power and passion. They like to be seen and heard and go to places that have a party atmosphere.
Air types like movies that have complex plots, conspiracies and intrigue as well as scientific documentaries. They like to be intellectually challenged by what they see. They like sophisticated music that has depth and meaning. They prefer outings to parties and like to visit places with a history.
Out for Dinner
When going out for dinner the Fire types love to be festive and order a large amount of rich food and drinks for everyone. They love to talk and joke during the meal and turn everything into a party. They often order too much and waste food and money. They like to eat red meat but may have quit for health reasons. They also can have a craving for sweets. Earth need to be more careful about what they eat because they are prone to indigestion, especially from the type the Fire Elements love to order. They are very serious about food and drink but may eat far too fast. They don’t like to waste food or money. They like strong spices and fried food but it does not agree with them. They tend to over indulge in anything life has to offer even though they will suffer from it.
The Water types are often watching their weight so they usually order for themselves but later end up eating things off the plates of others. They eat their food slowly and carefully and will over eat when emotional. They like salty foods but must be careful not to over indulge because of water retention. They also like sweets and carbohydrates because they provide temporary energy but they make them feel tired later. The Air type orders food they think will make them feel stronger. They like sour foods and condiments and oil but they must be careful or they cause indigestion. They take their time ordering and look over all the options on the menu. They are very particular in their table manners and do not like a commotion while ordering or eating. Fire eat to enjoy, Earth eats to live and enjoy the sensation of the food, Water eat what makes them feel good and the Air type eat what they think is appropriate for the situation.
At the Party
At the party Fire types take up center stage, talk and laugh loudly, and act as if they are leading actors. When Fire types get together they all talk at the same time and no one listens. When drunk they can become loud, boisterous, amative and violent. Intermingled with them are the choleric types who are sarcastically countering the idealism of the Fire types and arguing with their overly hopeful expectations. When too many Earth types get together they end up skirmishing each other. When drunk they often end up fighting with someone before the night is over. The Water type is introspective and tend to sit back and “soak up the energy”. They feel happy or sad depending on what others are feeling. They rarely will take center stage by themselves but they often attach themselves onto someone who does so they can play a strong supporting role in which they can be full of mirth. When drunk they tend to sit back and watch until they fail into a slumber.
The Air type is more likely to stand slightly to the side like a commentator and run a monolog of “dry humour” and attention-grabbing observations. They like to strike up intelligent conversations to balance out the din of the festive revelers.  When drunk they may become very sorrowful and lose control over there normally repressed emotions. Sometimes the drier Earth and Air types get together and make witty jokes directed at the Fire folks and the mirth of the over impressionability of the Water types. At the same time, the moist types wonder why the dry types don’t know how to let go and just party. This is one of the basic differences in the thinkers and feelers. The moist types feel everyone “should just do it” while the dry types think “what should I do?”
I hope that was a bit of fun. Remember we all have a bit of all the Elements within us and so we can all display a bit from all the elements, but generally we have one element that is more dominant than the others.

The Elements and the Subconscious Mind

The Elements and the Subconscious Mind

In Old China an emperor stood upon a very high hill. Spread through the valley below him was all of his great army. He could see where a battle would be fought and where the other armies waited. He had developed an intricate system of commands for the generals and officers of his army and the battle began
The emperor could signal to the right, and the right would attack. He could signal to the left, and the left would attack, or the middle. With another signal, each would retreat then attack again. The battle went on for hours. When the emperor saw a weakness he sent troops to that area and eventually they overcame the other army.

We live in amazing times when all of us have the opportunity to be the creative essence we were meant to be.

Blessings and Peace and
May your god give you the strength to realize how wonderful you are. One day you may even discover that the God or the Godforce that you seek has always been inside you.
